Unsung Heroes Awards is an annual leadership Gala that celebrates the most accomplished men and women who are the top athletic and academic achievers, social visionaries, community organizers, emerging leaders, celebrities and humanitarians.
The Unsung Heroes Leadership Awards was started by Jeffrey Coprich Jr. While he was in High School he saw many good players who never received the recognition they deserved for all their accomplishments on and off the field, all the “big name” players got the attention. Jeffrey received many scholarships and was one of the top ATH in high school football but he understood the will of positive energy that was needed to keep a player motivated to keep going. His idea of the show was to do just that! bring everyone together, provide positive energy and motivation to keep going no matter the circumstance. So, to give the right recognition honorees deserve, Jeffrey Jr. started the Awards show.
Jeffrey Coprich, Jr. is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley where he was a star running back and one of 22 players nationwide selected to the Allstate American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team for dedication to community service. Coprich was honored through his work with The Essence K. Coprich Library, in memory of his sister Essence Coprich who passed at age 7 in a family car accident. Furthermore, he also partnered with Microsoft for the “Collective Project.”
“Jeffrey Coprich, Jr. a UC Berkeley student giving children in Watts a chance to read and dream. Jeffrey founded The Essence K. Coprich Library at the 116th Street School, with the goal of helping children build self-confidence through literacy. To support his cause, every time students posted #IGiveABook, Microsoft donated to the library on their behalf.” – Microsoft
We have honored many players from all sports, men and women. Some of the players are now playing in the NFL or working in their respected fields. We enjoy seeing our honorees on the red carpet in their tuxedo and dresses. Many of our honorees have never got the opportunity to do dress up and be honored for their accolades. The Unsung Heroes Leadership Foundation are so proud to show the love the honorees deserve.
